Who We Are

We are a 3rd generation excavation contractor in the Adirondack Mountains of Northern New York. We specialize in residential work in the Keene/Keene Valley area.

Our History

In 1963 Judson Whitney started out as a builder, building new houses, fixing old houses and doing just about anything to build his business. When his son Wade joined the team they bought a small crawler loader with a backhoe and started doing their own site work. Before long the site work side of the business became more busy than the building side and more equipment, trucks and employees were added and soon they were no longer building. Wade took over in 1986 and Formed Wade Whitney Inc. Wade's son Ned was always fascinated with the business, and spent many hours tagging a long and took any chance he could to be in the trucks and equipment. In 2013 Ned took over and continues to run the business as Wade Whitney Inc. In the picture above, Avery (Ned's youngest daughter) can be seen getting ready to spend a few hours in the excavator with her Father. Will she be the next generation? Perhaps!
